Inspiring and touching you in an old gospel way, with a new traditional praise, "Great Wind Sounds of Trumpets" was originally formed in 1990, in New Britain, CT., on a dare. After several years as an R& B originator, singer/songwriter Carol Nesbitt Martin made an impression from the very beginning as a front man belting out soulful melodies with energy beyond belief. The name Carol was given by his paternal grandmother, Annie Mae Nesbitt, and it didn’t take long as he matured spiritually to realize his destiny, - “To sing hymns that celebrate Christ, especially as a group going from house to house.” His amazing raw talent is not only energetic with precise rhythmic arrangements, it is also a spontaneous spiritual experience, as God has anointed on him a unique vocal gift.Carol 'Sonny Boy' Nesbitt Martin began producing music in his teens, as a tight pocket drummer, running the whole gamut of R&B influences. He performed in various bands from Columbia, SC to Roxbury, MA. He was quite the balladeer. Along the way, several talent scouts made offers and helped to produce some original recordings, but none with any worthwhile results. Heavily influenced by family members, Aunt Mary Green and Manny Andrews, a true mentor, Carol studied the Holy Bible with intensity as a young adult and after surrendering his life to Jesus, he dismissed the illusion of 'making it big' in the music industry. Almost immediately, ‘Sonny Boy’ a.k.a. 'Mr. Energy', fell in love with, and became an ardent protégé of quartet gospel singers. GWSOT produced their 1st recording on cassette, in 1994, entitled "No Gift Greater Than God". These incredible songs were designed to uplift, inspire, and minister to your soul.In Y2K, after the eventual passing of most of GWSOT’s founding members, Carol recovered from his mourning and regrouped and right away went to work on a new CD, "The Vision Is Clear." It didn’t take long for the local quartet circuit to see the potential. Excited by how God is moving, he continued to write, and produced "Live & More”(2005), then, “A New Season”(2007), on his homegrown label, CNI Records-Home of Grandma’s Gospel™. This independent label has helped produce recordings of several local artists; including The Original Gospel Stars, Mama Grace & the Sisters of Faith, The Voices of Zion, and others.Under the leadership of Bro. Carol, GWSOT currently includes the talents of Veral Elliott (bass guitar, baritone), Maurice Patterson (drums, 1st tenor), and Victor Starkes (Keys, 2nd tenor). Now signed with Tate Music Group, the national release of their debut project, “More Than a Conqueror”, hit the digital shelves on July 6, 2010. GWSOT has been traveling church to church for over 20 years and Carol has shared the microphone with many of the heavyweights in Quartet Gospel Music, including Lee Williams, Spencer Taylor, Harvey Watkins, Keith ‘Wonderboy’ Johnson, Doc McKenzie, George Dean, Jay Caldwell, Paul Beasley, Williams Brothers, and the late Willie Neil Johnson, and Tommy Ellison, to name a few.Under management of Amazing Vision, with Carol as CEO and Jennifer Davis, President, if you need an anointed gospel group for concerts, banquets or special events, etc., you can reach us by dialing (800) 691-4716 or email us: email@example.com. May God Bless you all!“Not because of anything we have done, but because of His own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesusbefore the beginning of time.” - 2 Tim. 1:9
